ADR Blueprint Discussion Paper
On 7 May 2009 the Attorney General released the ADR Blueprint Discussion Paper for public consultation. The ADR Blueprint contains 19 proposals to increase and better integrate ADR across the NSW civil justice system. The ADR Blueprint project is an important reform project, with significant implications for the way we resolve our civil disputes in the future. ADR Blueprint Draft Recommendations Report 1: Pre-action Protocols
In response to the comments received on the ADR Blueprint proposals through the public consultation process, the Department is producing a series of ADR Blueprint Draft Recommendations Reports. Each Draft Recommendations Report concentrates on particular ADR Blueprint proposals, revising and refining those proposals to take into account stakeholder feedback, and setting out Draft Recommendations for reform. Interested stakeholders and members of the public have the opportunity to comment on those Draft Recommendations for reform before they are finalised and implemented. ADR Blueprint Draft Recommendations Report 2: ADR in Government
The Report’s draft recommendations include that the Model Litigant Policy be strengthened to give greater emphasis to the role of ADR in resolving civil claims and litigation, and that the Government prepare an annual public report on its use of ADR. The Report also recommends that ADR clauses be included in all appropriate government contracts. Submission - Protecting the Integrity of ADR

The ADR Directorate recently made a submission to the National Alternative Dispute Resolution Advisory Council, which is considering whether legislative changes are needed to protect the integrity of ADR processes.

The ADR Directorate's submission explores the ways in which the confidentiality of ADR processes should be protected, and whether ADR practitioners should be protected from liability.
